Angry Birds 2 AD (Eggs and Sausage) - 6-2-21
A mobile ad for the game Angry Birds 2, released on 6th July 2021.
Synopsis[]
The Bad Piggies and the Angry Birds flock are holding separate barbecue parties next to each other. A Minion Pig puts a whole grilled egg on a hot dog bun and eats it. This startles Red, causing him to pull out a package of sausages in retaliation (with a picture of a Minion Pig on the packaging), shocking the pigs. The rest of the Minion Pigs continue to roast more eggs, causing the rest of the flock (Matilda, Chuck, Terence, Bomb, Silver, and The Blues) to attack the pigs, turning them to sausages in the process. Gameplay footage of Angry Birds 2 is then shown with a kill count meter. Every time the birds hit the pigs, they turn into sausages and fill the meter. The ad ends with the birds burping after finishing their meal, with not a single pig in sight.
Why It's Cursed[]
Despite the fact that the Angry Birds are known to pop the Bad Piggies, in this ad, they are shown killing and eating them on-screen. The sausage package that Red pulls out implies that the pigs are regularly slaughtered for sausages, made even weirder by the fact that the pigs are sentient. The eggs the pigs eat do not contain any birds inside, making the birds' revenge really brutal in comparison. Being a clickbait ad, none of this actually occurs in the real game.
