Kenny Rogers Roasters Presents Awesome Together
This isn't gonna be a good idea!
This is an ad for the Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurant chain promoting their Bacon Roast in the Philippines. Chronicling the "Romeo and Juliet on the farm" romance of Bolzi the Pig and Sosi the Chicken to promote Kenny's Bacon Roast (a whole chicken wrapped in bacon).
Synopsis[]
We hear the story of Bolzi the Pig and Solsi the Chicken, how they met, became friends, and eventually, lovers, which shocks the other animals on the farm, including Bolzi and Solsi's respected parents, who forbid the two from seeing each other.
Master Potato the turtle (and narrator) tells Bolzi about the enchanted volcano which according to the legend anyone who jumps into it will be granted their wish of eternal love. The lovers go on an epic journey before reaching the volcano, jumping in and shouting "awesome together". We then cut to a live-action shot of the Bacon Roast, with the announcer reminding us that chicken and bacon are "awesome together".
At the very end of the commercial we see a teaser saying that Solsi and Bolzi (who are now surprisingly revived from nowhere) will be back.
Why It's NOT Awesome[]
Where to start? Okay, the flash animation is weird and the character's designs change throughout (Off Model in TVTropes jargon). The main characters' names are somewhat sexually suggestive, it almost comes off as an intentionally bad parody animation in the vein of something you would see on Newgrounds. Also, the fact that two lovers in a forbidden romance made an ultimate sacrifice in the name of love, only to become a meal at a fast-food restaurant.
