Confused.com - YMCA (2011, UK)

Appropriate website name.

In June 2011, British financial company Confused.com released an ad featuring their animated characters, as well as their main mascot, Cara Confused, singing their own spoof of The Village People's famous 70's hit YMCA.

Synopsis[]

This commercial, like most others of theirs, is entirely a song.

Lyrics below:

I said "Hey now!", car insurance is true, you could save, your, self, a fortune!

Why It's Indeed Confusing[]

The singing and lyrics are actually quite good, but of course it could get old quickly and annoying. What really makes this advert truly cursed though is the jiggle physics on the character's breasts, which probably weren't necessary.

Trivia[]

  • The singing was done by British singer/actress Louise Dearman, who performed in the West End production of Wicked.
  • The commercial, Duet, also uses this song.
  • After Confused.com stopped using Cara, they went to their most popular mascot, Brian The Robot, who started being used in 2013.
