Eagleman (The Original)
Remember kids: Be sure to have insurance on your car, otherwise Eagleman will lay a giant egg on top of your hood.
Eagle Insurance is a vehicle insurance agency based in Chicago, Illinois. They are best remembered for their Eagleman ads created by RDR Productions.
Synopsis[]
Two women are driving in a car when they stop and hear a noise. "What's that?" one woman exclaims, the other woman turns to her and responds "do you have insurance on this car?" "No" the first woman responds, to which the second woman "It must be Eagleman!"
The first woman exits the car and we cut to an extreme close-up of Eagleman who says in a muffled voice "I've got something for you!". Eagleman proceeds to lay an egg that hatches revealing an eagle chick with low rates in its mouth to which the women respond "aww, look at those low rates!"
Why It's Cursed[]
Before the internet, the ads had somewhat a cult following in Chicago and the surrounding area. Being made in 1993 on a shoestring budget. The Eagleman costume/puppet is a little unsettling, the acting on the women is sub-par, and the just bizarreness of the ad in general, especially the fact that a male eagle is laying an egg!
