There are two things everyone knows go good together: freshly baked cookies and a tall cold glass of milk. This advertisement attempted to combine both of them, as well as two iconic advertising campaigns.
Synopsis[]
We cut to a shot of Poppin' Fresh, the Pillsbury Doughboy and a mother baking some chocolate chip cookies, which the Doughboy gives to the children and their father to their delight as the mother goes to the fridge to get some milk, that's when she notices the carton is empty. The mother then asks everyone else who put the empty carton back in the fridge and the tone changes. The father says it wasn't him, the family then looks angrily at the Doughboy, who gulps and runs away in a Looney Tunes-esque style. The "Got Milk" and announcer end screen appears followed by a shot of the Doughboy locked in the kitchen oven by the family attempting to bake him where he screams as his hat catches on fire.
Why It's Cursed[]
It starts off similar to Pillsbury's classic Doughboy commercials but then takes a dark turn. Also because of the sight of the iconic Poppin' Fresh being tortured/murdered! It gives off a "Haha, we ruined your childhood!" feel, something that Robot Chicken would do. Not to mention kids could see this, and be scared for life.
Trivia[]
- The Doughboy appeared in another Got Milk campaign spot, where he cheers up a Russian family with his cookies, but it turns to sadness once again, when they don't have any "Moloko" (He is spared, though).
