1989 commercial advertising the He-Man Power Sword, a toy intended for MOTU-based pretend play.
Plot[]
It cuts to the '89 version of He-Man, then it shows a young boy trying to defeat a ghost-like version of Skeletor. The boy drops the sword and luckily picked it up. He soon defeats Skeletor and then it cuts to the announcer denoting that the toy had a He-Man video offer of sorts.
Why no one, not even Skeletor, dares to watch it[]
It may seem very scary because it is a young child fighting Skeletor, when HELLOOOOOO, isn't the ACTUAL He-Man supposed to? Also Skeletor looks very terrifying there than in other MOTU media. Not to mention the young child drops the sword. Otherwise, the toy seems very cool on the surface.
Trivia[]
- Retrospect TV made a video on this very ad and how he keeps his power sword by his bed every night (for in case ghosts and/or Skeletor lookalikes actually came and attacked him)
