To commerate the tenth anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, Hungry Jack's (the Australian Burger King) released a four piece line of bath toys as part of their Kids Club Meal.
Synopsis[]
The commercial starts with stock footage from the show, namely from the episodes Bubblestand and Squirrel Jokes, before promoting the kids club meal, which consists of three chicken nuggets and a bottle of spring water, then the four toys consisting of SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy and Squidward. The second and third have movable arms to simulate swimming while the others are just floatable.
Why It's Cursed[]
The entire commercial feels incredibly low budget, if the use of stock footage was anything to go by. As mentioned before, the commercial used clips from season 1 and season 2, leading to a quality clash. As this was just used to show the characters, they could've just as easily used a season 1 episode for Sandy's bit.
And for the meal, to reiterate, you only get three chicken nuggets and a bottle of water. The standard is a small menu item (i.e. a burger or small serving of nuggets), a side and a drink. In other words, when the meal looks as cheap as the commercial, that's pretty cursed.
