Jordache is an iconic manufacturer of jeans and other clothing founded by the Nakash brothers, Joe, Avi, and Ralph in 1969. They were best known (along with other companies/designers such as Gloria Vanderbilt and Calvin Klein) for popularizing "designer jeans" in the 1970s and 1980s. This strange commercial was created toward the end of their popularity in the late 1980s.
Synopsis[]
A young woman screams "No" in slow motion. It seems that she and her friends may have inadvertently killed an old man by hanging out with him. Footage of the group with the old man as he sits on a bench feeds some birds, runs for shade from the rain under a carousel, rides a skateboard, and plays chess is spliced with his pain-stricken face. Concurrently, we overhear a conversation between two of the teens assessing his condition. Considering the dude is probably dying. We do not know what actually happens if the man dies or what! It even ends with a young woman asking if the man will be alright.
Why it's cursed[]
It is a very confusing commercial since it is supposed to be advertising jeans, but still, we get an old man dying and some teenagers being responsible for his demise, that does not make one want to buy jeans.
