Yet another McDonald's Pakistan ad. This time it's showcasing Strawberry Shortcake and drone-like flying toys.
Synopsis[]
The ad starts with a girl and her brother (who I doubt deliberately volunteered to play with, for lack of a better term, girl toys) playing with Strawberry Shortcake toys. The camera pans in on the said toys and then the CGI portion of this hell spawn begins.
Strawberry Shortcake and Presumed Clone(?) are seen skipping through a field. They then stop, and with no segue we then cut to the Flying Force. The kids rev up their flyers, and as they take to the sky, we go back to the CGI portions. Strawberry Shortcake and Significant Other are now seen on an bare field, a singular tree rests in the onset, a brutal reminder of industrial society and its consequences.
The Flying Force then arrives on the scene, the sisters strawberry-wave their hats, signaling the Flying Force, a helicopter lands on the scene, and then the Flying Force leaves (without picking up the strawberries I might add). After one final clip of the kids playing, the ad fades out.
Why It's Cursed[]
The animation is awful, the models are non-symmetrical blobs. The walk cycles are weird, and the character designs are generally unappealing and jarring to look at, especially up close. The only moments of clarity are the kids playing, but even then they don't appear to be having much fun. And as if that wasn't enough, it is heavily implied that the strawberries were left to die on the bland, lifeless landscape, as the two drones (or whatever they are) fly into the distance without them in tow
