This is a commercial for Pokémon Red and Blue for Game Boy from 1998.
Synopsis[]
The viewers see a neighborhood. And a school bus stops at a house. (The scene takes place, most likely on September and the first day of school. In other words --since the commercial took effect in 1998-- "the scene takes place on September 1, 1998".) Then the school bus open its doors and the school bus driver --within the bus-- asks a yellow mouse Pokemon (named Pikachu) if he wants a ride. To which the Pokemon (who is ready for school) responds "Pikachu!". And he (Pikachu) climbs on. The bus driver says, "Yeah, whatever!". The scene cuts to the next scene where the viewers see all the other 149 of the original 150 Pokemon. (That is, who follow Pikachu on the school bus.) After the bus driver hears a noise, he says to the Pokemon, "I will be right back!". Then an announcer asks the viewers --watching the commercial-- "WHERE CAN YOU CATCH ALL 150 POKEMON!?" (referring to the original 150 Pokemon from "Pokemon Indigo League"). Then the driver (now he has all 150 of the original 150 Pokemon) then takes the bus full of Pokémon to a compactor. And he pushes the button. The announcer says (to answer the question of where the viewer --who own a Nintendo Game Boy system-- can catch all 150 Pokemon), "ON YOUR GAME BOY! THAT IS WHERE!". (True to the announcer's comment, if the viewer --watching the commercial-- wants to know where they can catch all 150 Pokemon, they can catch them on their Game Boy.) "POKEMON FOR GAME BOY IS HERE!", the announcer continues. The bus is turned into a Game Boy with the Pokemon trapped inside. The announcer continues, "POKEMON FOR GAME BOY IS HERE! AND BOTH PACKS, YOU CAN CATCH THEM ALL! GAMES AND SYSTEMS ARE SOLD SEPERATELY!". After the bus driver transforms the school bus into a Game Boy, he plays "Pokemon Red and Blue" on it. (That is, forgetting that he is going to drive the Pokemon to school.) And the commercial then ends.
Why's it cursed[]
The bizarreness of this ad, the sadist nature of the bus driver, and the fact an entire bus can be squished into a Game Boy.
