Vive Sin Drogas (Live Without Drugs) is a campaign by Mexico broadcaster TV Azteca. In 1999 or 2001 maybe, they aired this PSA with a Spanish rap.
Synopsis[]
The camera pans down to a park where a colorful flower (which resembles the campaign's logo) comes to life and starts dancing and rapping a song.
Lyrics below:
English translation (may not be precisely accurate):
I know that you are young and that you know how to see
That not all things can be believe
If they offer you drugs they will tell you that it feels cool, you're going to laugh
It's not true, don't listen, it's not true, it's not true, don't listen, it's not true
What these people do not want to tell you is that if you use drugs you will be confused, that they will harm your body, that they will poison your body.
Because living without drugs is living better
You always have to be careful of whats around you
Live without drugs, live without drugs
Living without drugs, you will be happy, living without drugs, living without drugs (Live without drugs)
(spoken): Live without drugs, Aztec Foundation, for a Mexico without drugs.'
Why It's Cursed[]
The drug user in the commercial is terrifying, and the bad (but understandable since CGI was still new at the time) 3D animation makes him and the animation altogether more uncanny.
Trivia[]
- There is a other commercial. It can be viewed here.
